Dear Friends in Rescue,
Thunder’s Angels has been bombarded with some very large medical bills over the last two weeks and the dogs that we recently rescued are in need of your support. We have Josie, a nine year old Chihuahua mix whose owner dumped her off to die in the gas chamber before we rescued her – she is hospitalized today for a retching cough that interferes with her breathing. She will need xrays and further medical treatment depending on what the doctor finds…we are hoping it isn’t too bad. We’ve had several other dogs with urinary tract infections, upper respiratory infections, skin infections, heartworm disease, dental problems, and intestinal parasites. Some of their sweet faces are pictured below. With the days of summer behind us, we were hoping to be able to rescue some more dogs now that a lot of our foster families are returning from vacation – but with thousands of dollars in medical debt, we won’t be able to make our next pull without your support. As a 100% volunteer organization, every cent of every dollar you donate goes directly towards the dogs – please donate what you can today to help the dogs that are with us and waiting for their forever homes and the ones that are still waiting for us to rescue them.
Thank you for your support and please feel free to crosspost to all of your dog-loving friends and family!

Meet Sadie! Sadie is a young corgi mix. She has been unable to control her bladder and was leaking urine since the day she arrived to us. We originally thought she was having some complications from her recent spay surgery or a bad urinary tract infection but an array of medications were not helping her at all - she remained 100% incontinent. She recently spent some time in the hospital where the doctors observed her and conducted several tests and xrays (which cost the rescue a lot of money) – the doctors have diagnosed her with a birth defect which will require a costly operation (performed by a specialist) to resolve her incontinence problems. The surgery is going to cost about $3,000 on top of the hundreds that we've already spent on her. If we can’t raise enough money for her treatment, poor Sadie will never be able to control her bladder and will forever be sitting in a puddle of urine. Other than this one issue, Sadie is a very young and healthy girl and she loves everyone she meets – she’s a perfect candidate for adoption into a loving home. We saved Sadie from the gas chamber to give her a better life but we can’t do it alone – can you help Sadie by donating a few dollars toward her care and give her the happy life that she deserves in her forever home? Anything you can give to help with the cost of her surgery is greatly appreciated and even if it’s only a few dollars, every little bit helps. If we raise enough money for her surgery, we will be posting updates here, so please check back. Thank you for your support!

Meet Josie! Josie is a Chihuahua / Papillion mix that we recently saved from the gas chamber – she’s an older girl and after many years of love, her family dumped her off to die as ‘repayment’ for her loyalty and companionship. The vet estimates that she’s about 9 years old. For her age, Josie is still happy and energetic with a lot of love to give! She loves to play dress-up and is all wags and wiggles when she meets someone new.
Unfortunately, since Josie arrived into our rescue, she has been suffering from an incessant cough that is pestering her every hour of every day – the poor girl can’t even sleep through the night! We originally thought that she might have kennel cough but it has not been responding to antibiotics so now, Josie has to be put through a whole bunch of very expensive tests. She’s already spent 5 days in the hospital and had xrays which suggest that her trachea may be collapsing from so much coughing. She needs more medicine and probably an array of testing before our vet will be able to determine how to treat her. Can you donate to help save Josie’s life? She needs your help! Please make a donation and help Josie get the care that she needs! Any amount, no matter how big or small, will help tremendously!

URGENT DOGS:
Chooch was just saved from a gassing shelter and is now living in a very temporary situation – he needs a new home – can you help by either adopting him or fostering him until his forever home can be found??
CHOOCH --> Hi, I’m Chooch! I’m a male boxer/yellow lab mix, approximately 50lbs. Thunder’s Angels rescued me from a gassing shelter where I was almost killed due to lack of space. The animal control officers there found a rescue for me because even though they couldn’t hold me they thought I would make a great family pet! I am very well mannered and house trained too! My two favorite things are long walks and sleeping! I have learned to "sit" before and after being leashed and I’m also learning to walk with a Gentle Leader and doing very well. I do not know how to retrieve balls or toys yet, but I’m learning quickly! I’m a good eater and I’ll always to "sit" and "lay down" for treats – I’m very eager to please. I have not shown any aggression or dominance when meeting other dogs, but I have not yet met any cats so my foster mom does not know how I’d do with them. I am crate trained but I really prefer not to be enclosed in a crate – my foster family lets me sleep in a confined area and I do great. I’m not a very high energy dog so I do not need a fenced yard as long as I get walked twice a day! I would do best in a family with no children or children 13 years or older. Can you foster or adopt me?? | ![]() ![]() |
