After hearing of our rescue and seeing our website, I often talk with people who are simply unaware of the thousands of animals that are killed behind closed doors every single day in every single open-intake facility in this country.  I hear things like “well our local shelter doesn’t kill animals like they do in the south – that’s just horrible!” – I always respond by telling people that unfortunately, if your local shelter provides county animal control, it does kill animals.  ...

Dogs. What else?

Tuesday night we had a plea from another rescue to take some dogs that were passing through our area on transport – they’d been pulled from two gassing shelters that we regularly rescue from but the rescue that saved them was overwhelmed and needed some help.  I offered to try and quickly find some foster homes for the 17 pups in need and I assumed that we could take one or two but before transport arrived at 1:30 AM……. our wonderful volunteers had space for all SEVENTEEN!

The Babies are Here!

MEET ARIEL! 
Ariel is a darling pit mix – she’s so loyal and loving that she bonded with her foster mom instantly – a true testament to the fidelity of this breed!

We estimate that she’s about 3 years old.  Ariel was a victim of neglect for her entire puppyhood and young adulthood – her previous ‘family’ left her tied to the end of the chain 24/7 – unspayed, she of course became pregnant.  When a neighbor saw this poor girl (still showing no signs of pregnancy) living outsid...
