Tuesday night we had a plea from another rescue to take some dogs that were passing through our area on transport – they’d been pulled from two gassing shelters that we regularly rescue from but the rescue that saved them was overwhelmed and needed some help.  I offered to try and quickly find some foster homes for the 17 pups in need and I assumed that we could take one or two but before transport arrived at 1:30 AM……. our wonderful volunteers had space for all SEVENTEEN!

Introducing:

Carl, a super sweet Pit mix who apparently has one of the best temperaments a dog can have!  This guy loves EVERYONE, even cats!

3 Jack Russell Terrier pups, dumped as orphans and left to die in the gas chamber at only 6 weeks old :(

Maurice
– a Schipperke mix that looks like a permanent black lab puppy – full grown and weighing in at only 18 lbs.

2 Shepherd/Ridgeback sisters – also orphaned and slated for an inhumane death in the chamber at only 10 weeks :(

And last, but certainly not least:

Midnight!  A loving black lab mix mom and her TEN one-week old American Bulldog pups.  (Midnight is sick right now – she arrived to us puking bile and rejecting her pups.  She needs vet care and esbilac milk – donations are appreciated!)

Many thanks to Linda for making Midnight a whelping box!  And to Natalee, Crystal, Nicole, Kate, and Jen for opening their hearts and homes to these deserving dogs who days ago were just a few of society’s castaways but today are loved members of their (foster) families.

Once everyone is healthy and vetted, you’ll see them on our website as being available for adoption – keep an eye out :)
