<-- KODA PENDING ADOPTION!

Hi Everybody! My name is Koda! I am a young Australian cattle dog mix. I look just like a cattle dog, but I have a more auburn coat and big soft ears. I weigh about 50 lbs, and shouldn’t get much bigger. I live with a dog and a cat in my foster home and we all get along great. I love to play, share toys and run around outside with other dogs. I like to follow the kitty around the house and try to smell him, but I’m very gentle and I don’t chase him.

I am not territorial or aggressive with other animals and I like almost every animal and person that I meet. I have not exhibited any destructive behaviors in my foster house and I am good at occupying myself with toys if no one else wants to play with me.

I always come as soon as I’m called. I know how to sit, lie down, leave it, play fetch and give paw. It’s like I cannot do these commands fast enough. I’m not bad on a leash, and I’m even a pretty good running partner but I need more practice staying calm around bicycles. My foster Mom is working on teaching me not to get excited around bikes and scooters, and I’m doing a little better each time.

I’m house trained and neutered and I haven’t had any accidents in my foster house. I am crate trained and I run right in my crate and lay down as soon as I’m told. I love to lie around and snuggle with my foster parents. I’m so sweet and protective and I really love people. I don’t seem to be afraid of anything and I am good at guarding my home. I only bark if someone comes near my doors or windows, but as soon as I see that my foster Mom is OK I stop barking and start greeting.

I’m looking for a permanent home where I can get a good amount of play and exercise and I would love a fenced yard. Because of my energy level, I shouldn't be placed in a home with children under 12 years of age. I would be a great companion for another dog, but I like people so much that I would be a great companion for just a single person too.

HAYDEN -->

Hi, I’m Hayden! I'm a young male chocolate lab/ pit mix. I am about 40 pounds under 1 year old. I was dropped at a gassing shelter when my family said they were giving me up because I scratched a child while playing :( I admit that I do still like to jump but I guess I'm sort of glad they gave me up because they didn't feed me very well - I'm about 15 - 20 lbs underweight and all of my bones are showing. I'm glad that Thunder's Angels saved me because now I'm in a loving foster home fattening up :)

I'm a sweetheart and I just LOVE affection. I’m good with all people – yes, even children. I’ve done well with the other dogs I’ve met so far too. I need a home without cats or other small critters though because I like playing with them which isn't very safe.

I'm housetrained and working on learning basic commands and leash manners.

Don’t let me pictures fool you either – I’m a brindle color and MUCH more handsome in person and my fur is super soft too!

I really am a big love sponge! I give kisses and wag my whole butt when greeting you. I’d love a permanent family to call my own and love me for the rest of my days! And if you have a fenced yard for me to run and play in, that’d be great too!

<-- BABY

Hi, I’m Baby! I'm a female terrier mix (mixed with either greyhound or whippet). I am about 8 months old. I ended up at a gassing shelter when my family couldn’t afford to feed me. I was very thin and am happy that Thunder’s Angels saved me and is feeding me lots of food now.

When I was first placed in foster care, I had a very hard time adjusting to the heartbreak of being dumped and showed signs of seperation anxiety when crated -- my foster mom says that without the crate, this has cleared up but I probably will still be best suited in a high-activity home with a stay at home parent, retiree or someone who works from home.

I have a VERY happy upbeat personality and I LOVE people so much.  I don’t do well with small things such as very young children, puppies, small dogs, cats, rabbits, etc but I’m fine with adults and larger dogs.

Because I still have a lot of puppy in me, I would benefit from some basic obedience classes too - I'm eager to please and easily trained with positive reinforcement.  My foster mom has taught me several tricks and commands already!

I really am a lover! I give kisses and wag my whole butt (to the point that I almost fall over!) when greeting you! I’d love a permanent family to call my own and love me for the rest of my days! And if you have a fenced yard for me to run and play in, that’d be great too!

My adoption fee is only $75 and includes all vaccines, spaying, heartworm testing, deworming, etc.

PENDING ADOPTION! CHARLIE -->

Hi, my name is Charlie. I am looking for a new home because my owner passed away a short while ago -- on Christmas Eve actually :(

I am a Lab Pit mix around 6 years old. I am homeless right now and living in a very temporary situation since my owner died – I would really like a home of my own and a new family to love me again. My temporary foster dad says that I have a great personality and that I love people of all ages! I am also good with other dogs if introduced properly. I haven’t been around cats so I don’t know if I would like them or not. I’m very athletic - I love to go for walks or a run and I am great on a leash. I am totally housetrained too. I am used to being alone in the house during the work day and never chew on anything. I am up to date on all my shots and have no health issues.

I miss family life very much and would love if you could open up your heart and home to me. I promise I won’t disappoint you. My adoption fee is only $75.

<-- ANNIE PENDING ADOPTION!

Hi, I'm Annie, a female Shepherd mix. Thunder's Angels saved me just minutes before I was supposed to be killed in the gas chamber and I'm now looking for my forever home. I weigh 62 pounds and am approximately 1 - 2 years old. Like most young shepherds, I am VERY smart and very athletic so my forever family should be fairly active and comfortable taking me for walks each day.

When introduced properly, I get along with other large dogs but I do play rough at times. I do not have any toy or food aggressions but I do like to steal toys that other dogs are playing with to entice a game of "chase".

I am housetrained and I know how to sit on command. I also know 'wait' 'down' 'shake hands' and 'speak' (bark) when you ask me to and sometimes I speak just for fun like when I'm begging for a treat or want you to play ball. I love food and "cookies" is my favorite word -- if you say 'cookies' and I'm a mile away, I will be at your feet to sit and wait for a treat within a few seconds!

I don't bark excessively but I'm a very vocal dog when playing - I like to 'talk' to my playmates and have a playful signature growl that I use when we play with our kong toys.

I love people so much, especially children! Because I’m still a pup, I like to jump when greeting people and I LOVE giving kisses - I will lick your face for hours :) I do counter-surf and try to steal food but if you correct me I always jump down and give you puppy-dog-eyes to say that I'm sorry. I am learning how to play fetch but right now I'm not so interested in the retrieving part - I'd rather tease you while I play 'keep away' and you chase me - it's my favorite game!

I have recently started leash-training with a gentle leader and I respond great to it with no pulling at all! My foster family will send it with me (along with some of my favorite toys) when I'm adopted. I love chewing on nylabones while I lay at your feet at night and I really love squeaky toys too. I'm such a great dog and I've been waiting for a real family for way too long now - my foster family wants to keep me but I really need a home without cats. Can you HELP SAVE ME and give me all of the love and attention that I crave?

My adoption fee is $75 and includes all vaccines, heartworm testing, heartworm treatment, spay surgery, and up-to-date heartworm and flea/tick preventative.

<-- BEEZEL

Hi, I’m Beezel! I’m an energetic, playful, gentle and loving Plott Hound mix puppy looking for my forever home. I’m approximately 7 months old and about 40lbs.

I had a rough start in life but I haven’t held a grudge!  I love to play and wrestle with other dogs – I attend doggie day care during the week and am extremely well socialized and I have NO aggression of any sort (I will allow you to thoroughly inspect every inch of my wiggly body, paws, teeth, ears, etc and I LOVE belly rubs!). I have been around cats and kittens and I act curious/playful with them. I love all people and children but because I will grow large and am still a puppy, I may be best in a home without toddlers.

Since being in foster care I have been learning housetraining and am doing extremely well! I know to “wait” before going outside and also to wait for my food. My foster mom has trained me on the basis that “Nothing in Life is Free”. I now walk great on a leash and am learning to heel at stops. I have learned all basic commands such as sit, down, wait, stay, touch and paw. I would love to go to home with another canine companion that has a moderate energy level and enjoys to play.

Can you HELP SAVE ME?

Please note that since Beezel is a hound mix he needs to be placed in a home where he will either be leash-walked only or with a physical fence – no electric fences please.

  SOCKS -->

Hi, I’m Socks!  I’m a young male Australian Cattle Dog / Corgi mix. I’m approximately 20lbs right now and about 5 months old. I was dumped with my litter mates at a gassing shelter without Mom or Dad – Thunder’s Angels saved us but they have no idea what breeds we are actually mixed with. I have very soft fur and won't grow too big - probably 40lbs max.

I’m the most playful of my litter. I am a little shy at first but once I warm up, I’m very energetic and can sometimes be a little mouthy during play but I do well with children.

Iam okay with cats and I love to play with all of the other dogs in my foster home.

I am already neutered and up to date on vaccines. I'm doing well with my housetraining and will be a great addition to any family. Can you HELP SAVE ME?

<-- TUBBY

Hi, I’m Tubby! I’m a young female Australian Cattle Dog mix.

I’m a playful pup with a big appetite! I love to eat and play all day! I am okay with cats and children and I love other dogs of all sizes.

Iam already spayed and up to date on vaccines. I'm doing well with my housetraining and will be a great addition to any family. Can you HELP SAVE ME?

PIPER -->

Hi, my name is Princess Piper and my foster mom says I am a sweetie! I am a young female boxer/ black lab mix, about 50lbs. I didn’t have a very good life before being rescued by Thunder’s Angels. My previous family forgot to spay me and when I had puppies they dumped me and my babies at a gassing shelter to die. I was totally emaciated (you could see every notch in my spine!) but thankfully my foster mom took me in and helped me regain my health! Despite all I have been through—puppies, a terrible shelter experience, a very long transport, then being asked to allow strangers to handle and care for me and my babies, I have always been super sweet!

I am fully housebroken and love being indoors cuddling with people on the couch! I hope that my new family will let me sleep in their bed at night! I am super loyal and very eager to please – I follow my foster mom around the house like a shadow sometimes. I have done well with all of the other dogs I’ve met so far – I really love to PLAY with them. I’m high energy and should go to a home with a fenced yard and preferably another doggie so that we can run and play all day! I love to play fetch and if you quit the game before I want to stop, I will even throw it in the air myself!

I walk fine on a leash and love car rides. I also do great with children (occasionally I jump to give hugs and kisses) but my new home should have no cats or other smaller animals– I try to chase them and can’t understand why they don’t want to play!

I'll be a great addition to any family!  Can you HELP SAVE ME and give me the life I deserve?

<-- PEACHES

Hi, I’m Peaches! I’m a very petite female pit mix (possibly with dalmation), approximately 5 months old. I ended up at a gassing shelter when my family realized that having a puppy actually requires work! Fortunately, Thunder’s Angels saved me and placed me in a loving foster home in PA. My foster family says that I am VERY smart! In the short time that I’ve been here I’ve learned “sit”, “down”, “come”, “paw” and “stay”. I get along with all of my foster siblings – dogs, cats and human children :) My best friend is a pit/dane mix – he is 90lbs and I am only 25lbs…when we play together it’s quite a riot! I am very gentle though and very people-centered – I love following my foster mom around the house and will even jump baby gates to get to her if she’s in a different room.

I was very skinny upon arrival but am gaining weight quickly. Despite being starved and somewhat neglected before, I have NO toy or food aggressions at all. I do well when riding in the car, I sleep through the night and am learning housetraining.

I will be a great addition to any family!

We will require a fenced yard since we are hounds.

We are already neutered, dewormed and up to date on vaccines.

<-- PRISCILLA

Hi, my name is Priscilla.  I am a female Spaniel mix and about 6 mos old.  I weigh about 12 pounds and probably won't get much bigger, maybe 15 pounds.  I am a sweet little girl and always seem to have a somber expression on my face, but don't let that fool, I'm very happy & playful.  I just give that look to melt your heart!  I love to rough house with my foster siblings and foster ferret, but I also love to spend quiet evenings alone with my foster parents, cuddling on the couch and even under blankets.  I have the softest fur ever, so you'll enjoy snuggling with me on the couch!

My foster parents think I would do well in a home with older kids and would probably be great with cats, since I'm such good friends with my foster ferret.  I'd like to go to a forever home that has another dog(s), but my foster parents think I would do well as a single dog too.

I very rarely bark, but am very vocal when playing with my foster siblings.  I have no food aggressions, but do occasionally get upset if another dog tries to take my toy...but I am fine with people taking them.  I am good on a leash and doing wonderful with potty training.

Can you HELP SAVE ME?

I'm spayed, dewormed and up to date on vaccines.

 TY -->

Hi, my name is Ty!  I'm a male, long-haired chihuahua, approximately 4 yrs old.  I'm an owner-surrender dog -- I need to find a new home due to my Mom's illness.

I love everyone I meet including other dogs and even cats. I'm a sweetheart and not aggresive in any way.

I am not housebroken since I don't go outside in my current home but I can learn with some training.

I'm up to date on vaccinations, neutered and heartworm negative.
My adoption fee is only $150!  (No children under 7 please)

<-- PEACE

Hi, I’m Peace (right)! I’m a male puppy (about 10-12 weeks old), probably a lab/chihuahua mix. I weigh about 10 lbs now.  My fur is a beautiful brindle color.

I’m a handsome boy and I like to play with other dogs. In fact, I get along well with everyone I meet. I am already learning potty training and walking on a leash. When I’m not playing, I like to sit on your lap, give kisses and be peaceful :) I have a good appetite too. I’d love to go to a home with a fenced yard and other small doggie siblings.

I’ll be a great addition to any family – can you HELP SAVE ME?

(No children under 7 years of age please.)

BLOSSOM -->

Hi, I’m Blossom. I am a 3 month old female border collie mix. I was dumped at a gassing shelter when my family realized that having a puppy actually requires work. Fortunately, Thunder’s Angels saved me and placed me in a loving foster home!

Right now I weigh about 20 pounds. The people who left me at the shelter said my parents were very small for their breeds and I’m quite petite so I shouldn’t grow much bigger than 40 or 50lbs. Because of my petite size and since I can be shy when warming up to people, I cannot be placed in a family with children under 8 years of age.

Once I get to know you, I am very active and would do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can run and play. I love playing with other dogs too! (I’m a bit dominant at times so I will do best with a more submissive dog.)

I’m a total sweetheart and I love to cuddle and be held and I love playing with toys too. My foster mom is teaching me housetraining and I’m doing well so far. I’m also learning basic commands like sit, down, in, and come.

Foster care is fun but I’d really love a family of my own. Can you HELP SAVE ME?

<-- BAILEY PENDING ADOPTION!

Hi, I’m Bailey! I’m a young female mutt – possibly a beagle mix? Thunder’s Angels saved me from a horrible placed called ‘the shelter’ where they were going to kill me via heartstick – I am lucky to have made it out alive! I’m now in a loving foster home where I’ve been such a good girl! My foster mom describes me as “a sweet girl who loves to give attention as much as she loves to get it!” I love belly rubs, cuddling, going for walks, running after a ball, playing tug of war with other dogs and of course, treats and dinner time!

I have a wonderful temperament and no aggression at all (although I will sometimes guard my toys/treats from other dogs with a growl).

I do still have a lot of puppy energy so I will do best in a home where I can get plenty exercise - a fenced yard where I can chase after the ball or play with other dogs would be ideal.

I don’t fuss when crated but ideally I would love to live with someone who is home at lot (either someone who works from home, a retiree, or a stay at home parent) because I thrive on human interaction and companionship.

I haven’t been exposed to children in my foster home but I should do fine with kids – however, because I like to jump, Thunder’s Angels is recommending only older children (5+). I’ve only met one cat so far but I didn’t have any interest in her. I love other dogs but I can be a little bossy so I might be best paired with a dog that’s a little bit submissive.

My foster mom wants to keep me but she works a LOT and knows I will fare better in an environment where I can be the center of someone’s life :) I’d love a permanent family – can you HELP SAVE ME?

<-- JIGGS

Hi, I’m Jiggs! I’m a young male Chihuahua mix. I ended up at a rural shelter through no fault of my own when my family could no longer afford to feed me. Luckily Thunder's Angels saved me and now I'm in a foster home awaiting adoption.

I’m a little guy, under 20 pounds, but I do well with both small and bigger dogs. I’m also very good with kids but I haven’t been exposed to cats yet.

I’m a loving dog and as you can tell from my pictures I’m also very cuddly. I love nice warm sweaters and spending the day chewing on a bone. I also wash my face just like a cat does. I greet everyone that enters my foster home with a smile and a tail wag. I walk well on a leash and am quiet for a terrier – my foster mom says I don’t even bark when the other dogs are barking.

My foster mom has a fenced yard and I’m so loyal that even when outside I stick right by her side. I’ll be a great addition to any family. Can you

PENDING ADOPTION!  RUBY -->

Hi, I’m Ruby! I’m a young female (approx 2 years old) mutt! I ended up at a gassing shelter when my homeless dad had to turn me in to get himself shelter. I’m glad that Thunder’s Angels saved me - I have nice warm shelter and am getting lots of love in my foster home! I look like a black chow but I’m really a very tiny (under 1 foot tall) and adorable girl!

I’m seeking a home where I can be the only dog because I don’t get along well with other dogs.  I've had limited exposure to cats and I seem to do okay with them. I also behave well around children.

I need to be with someone who will take me on leash-walks only because I can jump very high and will hop most fences when left unattended.

I love soaking up attention from people and will be a perfect lap dog (I could even be the type of dog to travel around with you in your purse). Everyone who meets me says I look like a real live teddy bear or a permanent chow puppy.

I've been spayed, vaccinated, treated for heartworm and am ready for a new life and family!

GOLIATH -->

Hi! I’m Goliath and I am looking for my forever home!  I am a Dachshund/Min Pin mix. I am approximately 1 year old and 10lbs right now. Thunder’s Angels saved me when I was on my "last chance" at a heart-sticking shelter.

I didn’t have the best start in life – someone used to hurt me.  As a result, I’m scared of men and am seeking a female-only household (with no young children).   I’m a very sweet boy once I get to know you but because I am very shy and timid around people when I first meet them, it may take me a few days to warm up to you. My foster mom has been slowly introducing me to lots of new people so that I can learn that not all people are bad but I do need to be with someone who can provide me with a lot of patience because I am fearful.

I have lots of energy and will need to be walked everyday (I am good on the leash!). I am learning how to play with toys and my foster mom is teaching me how to fetch. I rarely bark (only when I am waiting to be fed – don’t worry, I’m just excited to eat! I have no food aggression). I follow my foster-mom everywhere and I love to cuddle on the couch and sleep in the bed under the covers at night.

My foster mom is teaching me doggy manners and I have learned to "sit" for a treat and am working on giving my paw.  I am new to foster care so I am not yet potty trained but we’re working on it.

I have never been around cats, so I am not sure how I feel about them, but I get along great with other dogs my size and show no dominance or aggression.

<-- MAGGIE

Hi, I’m Maggie!  I’m a female Spaniel / Border Collie mix pup.  I’m about 12 weeks old right now and weigh about 10lbs.  I have small paws and will probably be about 30 pounds when fully grown.

I’m loveable and energetic -- I play all day with my littermates and the larger pups in the house but I can quickly settle to cuddle on your lap.   If you sit down, I’m there, looking up at you and waiting for kisses.

I was a puppy mill leftover that ended up dumped at a gassing shelter – because I spent my very first weeks of life in a cage with no human contact, I’m a bit ‘hand shy’.  Once I know you, I’m trusting but it takes me a little while to warm up to people so I need someone who will dedicate some time to socializing me well while I’m still young.

I’ve been vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed.

MOLLY -->

Hi, I’m Molly!  I’m a female Papillion / Spaniel mix pup.  I’m about 16 weeks old right now and weigh about 10lbs.  I have small paws and my foster mommy doesn’t think I’m going to grow too much bigger.

I’m the baby of my litter but that doesn’t stop me from laying down the law.  I olerate other dogs very well and I love playing with my big brother Rhonan
(who’s wrapped around my little paw) but I’d much rather snuggle up with my foster mommy or any other human who wants to give me love (which is a lot
because I’m so cute!).

I was a puppy mill leftover that ended up dumped at a gassing shelter –I spent my very first weeks of life in a cage with no human contact, but that hasn’t held me back much.  Even though I can be shy in new situations, I work really hard to overcome it and in no time I’m romping around like any other happy puppy.

I’m also totally house broken (though because my little bladder is still getting strong, it’s a good idea to have some puppy pads because I’m very good at using
those, too).

I’ve been vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed.

Hi, I’m Rhonan!  I’m a male English Working Cocker Spaniel  and Papillion mix pup.  I’m about 16 weeks old right now.

I am a little guy who probably won’t grow bigger than 15 lbs, but I can keep up with any big dog at the dog park! I love attention, whether from other dogs or
people, and am equally as happy to play and explore as I am cuddle on someone’s lap and nap (which is great for my foster mommy because I have super soft fur!).

I would be perfect with children of any age because I am really gentle.  I love looking out for my little sister, Molly, and am always surveying the scene to
make sure everyone is happy.

I am very eager to please and have been learning basic commands after only the first or second tries.  I’m even already house broken!

I’ve been vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered.

SEAMUS -->

Hi, I’m Seamus!  I’m a male Springer Spaniel mix pup.  I’m about 12 weeks old right now.

I have a short coat unlike my siblings.

I’m very inquisitive and will make a great watch dog someday – I listen for any strange sounds and immediately go to find them.   I’m lovable and follow my foster mom around the house.

I was a puppy mill leftover that ended up dumped at a gassing shelter – because I spent my very first weeks of life in a cage with no human contact, I’m a bit ‘hand shy’.  Once I know you, we are bonded like glue but it takes me a little bit to warm up to people so I need someone who will dedicate some time to socializing me well while I’m still young.

I’ve been vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered.

<-- SUMMER

Hi, I'm Summer, a female pit mix puppy (possibly mixed with Australian Shep), approximately 14 weeks old. Like most puppies I am playful with everyone I meet.

I'm a sweet girl that shows no signs of toy or food aggression but since I'm still young, as a pit, it's possible that I could develop dog-dog aggression at maturity. You can read more about this at: http://www.spbr.org/pictures/feb2305/feb23dogaggro.htm
We are seeking a responsible family (preferably with bully breed experience) who will help socialize us properly in our puppy days.

I'd love a fenced yard!

I'm spayed, fully vaccinated and dewormed.

<-- MISS MOLLY

Hi, I’m Miss Molly.  I’m a 4 month old female pup -  a mix of English Shepherd and German Shepherd.

Like most puppies, I’m full of energy and playful with everyone I meet.   I socialize well with other dogs and I’d love to go to a home with other young dogs and fenced yard to play in!  I especially love romping in the snow!

I walk well on a leash and am doing well with learning to “outside” to go potty.

My foster mom says I’m a little piggy when it comes time to eat – I don’t have any food aggression, but I always seem to want more :)  I feel the same way about squeaky toys – I just love them and want to play with all of them at the same time!

I am spayed, fully vaccinated and dewormed.

HOLLY & WINSTON -->

Hi, we’re Holly and Winston, English Shepherd / German Shepherd mix puppies.  We are approximately 16 weeks old and weigh a little over 16 lbs.

We have had a very tough start in life, as we were orphaned way too young.  Having each other to play and tumble with as well as an older female dog to mother us has helped us learn the ways of the world. Since we are already in a home, we are well on our way!

Holly -  My foster mom says I have a wonderful disposition, and will learn very quickly.  I am VERY smart and super sweet.    I have just begun to keep my crate dry, even overnight, and am already learning to go to the door to go out.  I am the calmer of the two pups, but it is an intelligent calm. I snuggle when picked up. I am very sure of myself, and have a gentle strong will and will work to figure out how to get what I want. I am a great problem solver, and once I learn something I do not forget.  I sit extra pretty to get a treat! My pictures do not begin to show how beautiful and expressive I am.

Winston, Winnie for short.  I am a love bug!  I am sweet and very affectionate.  I light up when I am called, bound in for a hug, and wiggle all over. My foster mom describes me as “bounce to the ounce” I come out of my crate in the morning with a zest for life, and promise to make you smile when you look at my adorable face with my ears flopping as I run.  I am alert and curious and want to explore everything.

We are living with a foster family in Philadelphia and are now on a schedule for sleep, play and eating. We will need someone who has time to continue with a routine as it us makes me feel safe to know what is next. We have already learned to sit and give paw. When we are fed and have had enough exercise we settle in our crate and are content to watch while foster mom does her chores.  We are still a bit underweight, and the vet has recommended 4 small meals a day until we put on a few more lbs.  We will probably grow fairly large, (We gained 3 lbs just this week!)

We are very close, we cuddle closely at night to sleep which calms us, and need to play and wrestle to strengthen our muscles. We would love to stay together, but would do fine if separated as there is another dog in the home and someone who has the time to give us lots of hugs and has plenty of time to play.

We are spayed and neutered, dewormed, and up to date an all shots, just waiting for a loving home that has time and space for a puppy... or two !

Hi, I'm Izzy, a mixed sheltie who is approximately 5 years old and weighs 33 lbs.  My foster mom thinks I'm the perfect dog.  I am a very quiet, obedient girl.  I am house trained, I follow commands well and I get along with other dogs.  I once saw a couple of cats and it looked like I would get along well them too.  I am usually a very calm dog, but I always get excited when meeting new people.  I am a big lover and I just want to be loved.

I have gotten very attached to my foster family and I never stray far from their side.  I like to sleep next to their bed at night and I am always sure to wait patiently for them to wake up before going out each morning.  I enjoy going outside, but only if my foster family accompanies me.  I don't like being in the yard (or even in the next room) if I'm by myself – I don’t have separation anxiety but I’ll do best in a home with someone who can spend time with me frequently.

I walk well on the leash and I'm well behaved when we travel in the car.  Trips to the pet store are always a lot of fun for me.  Mostly, I look forward to sitting on the couch and watching movies.  One of the few times I'll bark is if I hear a dog barking on the tv!

My foster family hasn't seen me with young children, but it seems apparent I would be very tolerant of children of all ages.

I have completed my heartworm treatment and am now ready for a new home!

I know you'll love me as much as I'll love you.  Please HELP SAVE ME.

<-- CARL PENDING ADOPTION!

Hi, I’m Carl.  I’m a young male brindle pit mix, approximately 55 lbs and between 1 and 3 years old.

I have a lot of energy and affection and I have such a good temperament that I could be a great therapy dog one day!  I do well with other dogs and even cats.  I’m quiet and don’t bark much.   I walk well on a leash too!

I’m housetrained and can stay alone in the house without any accidents or destructive behavior.

My foster mom is teaching me basic commands like ‘sit’ ‘shake’ ‘down’ and ‘stay’.

I’m a playful guy – my favorite toy is a rope/knot toy – but I also settle down well and cuddle with you at night.

I’ll be neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested and fully vaccinated before adoption.

PENDING ADOPTION! MAURICE -->

Hi, my name is Maurice and I am a male schipperke or schipperke mix - maybe with terrier? I'm estimated to be 10-12 months old and I'm a small dog, only about 20lbs. My former owners dumped me in a high kill gassing shelter, but luckily Thunder's Angles was able to get me out and put me into my new foster home.

I am new to foster care but I've only had one accident since being here, so I'm probably housetrained.  I like playing with other dogs. I haven't met cats or kids yet, but my foster mother thinks I would probably do very well with children since I love everyone I meet.

I like to go on walks and I'm pretty good on a leash. My foster mother says I am as sweet as pie and very loving. I love it when you hug me and cuddle with me.

Right now I don't know any commands, but I am attentive and smart, so I'm sure I will learn quickly now that I have someone to love and take care of me.

I will be neutered, full vaccinated, dewormed and heartworm tested prior to adoption.

<-- HEIDI

Hi, I’m Heidi!  I’m a female yellow lab mix.  I'm full grown (probably about 1-2 years old) but I’m still on the small side – only about 40 lbs.  I’m a mild mannered dog – I don’t beg for food at the table, I don’t jump on houseguests and I love snuggling by your side and even on your lap when you watch TV.

I get along great with other dogs and love wrestling and rolling around with the other animals in my foster home.  I also love to play in the snow and eat icicles and snow balls!

I’m new to housetraining (I must have lived outside before Thunder’s Angels rescued me) but I’ve only had a few accidents in the house so far.

I’m quiet when left unattended during the day and I don’t have any separation anxiety.  I have no toy or food aggressions either and I behave well around children.

I’ll be the perfect addition to any home – please apply only if you have a fenced yard and at least one other dog in the household already so that I can have a playmate :)

<-- MAI LING

Hi, my name is Mai Ling - that means beautiful, but I think I should have a name that also means pudgy ball of fur!  I am a female Shih Tzu / Pomeranian mix, about 6 pounds and about 3 months old.  Someone abandoned me right on the doorstep of one of Thunder’s Angels’ foster families.  Horrible right?  Well, I am so happy to be with loving people and in from the cold now!

I am doing very well with potty training, using piddle pads indoors.  I have mastered going up steps, but not going down, so I get very sad when I make it all the way up, just to find out that everyone is going right back down!  I cry until my foster mom comes to help me down.

I absolutely love the other dogs in my foster home - we wrestle and play tug-of-war all the time!  I have lots of puppy energy, but after some good play I'm ready to snuggle up for a nap.  I prefer to nap on the floor right by your feet, as you can see from my picture.

I also love the ferret that lives in my foster home so my foster mom thinks I 'd be good with cats and other small furry critters.  If you're looking for a tiny, furry ball of pudge, I'm the puppy for you!

I am spayed, vaccinated and dewormed.

Please apply to adopt me only if you have at least one other doggie in your home so that I can have a playmate

<-- BELLA

Hi, my name is Bella.  I am a 16 week old white shepherd / lab mix.  I love belly rubs, eating, and playing.  I am currently living in a foster home with two year old dog, three cats, and a six year old child.  For as young as I am I do well with the cats.  I do sometimes chase but stop when told “No Chasing.”  I should really go to a family with children 10 or older as I am very mouthy.  My foster family is working on socialization with me both with people and other dogs.  Because I am so young I still need a lot of socialization since when I get scared I tend to growl and snap.    Although I get along with the other dog in my foster home I do sometimes exhibit some reactive behavior when I get scared.

I am crate trained and am working on housetraining and doing quite well.  Sometimes I signal by whining and going to the door other times I just go to the door.  My foster parents are trying to teach me not to beg at the table and no garbage surfing.  I know basic commands such as sit, shake, release and my name (Bella).  My foster mom is teaching me “Come” “Wait” and “Off” by using a lot of positive reinforcement.

I love to go for walks but should continue leash training as I am doing quite well.  I love to go for rides in the car but get a little anxious and sometimes takes me a little while to settle down.  After I settle I usually lie down and sleep.

I sometimes pick things up that aren’t mine but if you tell me NO and replace it with my toy I won’t bother with it any more.  This also works with if I get too mouthy with you while playing if you tell me NO and give me a toy I stop nipping.  I love rawhides, real bones, ropes and tennis balls.  I even retrieve a toy if you throw it.  I am really loveable once I feel secure and safe.

DANNY BOY! -->

Meet Danny B. (Danny Boy)!  Danny came from Georgia and is estimated to be 3-5 years old and is a chocolate lab/vizla? mix. He definitely has the lab personality.  Danny has not had a good life so far but since been rescued in the nick of time by Thunders Angels, his luck has changed!

Poor Danny was left outside chained through all kinds of weather, with no shade or shelter.  He was confiscated and taken to animal control where he barely escaped the gas chamber.  Upon arrival to his foster home in PA, he was literally skin and bones, his fur was orange and fried from the hot Georgia sun, he was heartworm positive and had been surviving by eating bugs or whatever garbage he could find (the vet confirmed this at his first visit).  All of that has changed now and he has made it through his heartworm treatment, has put on weight with good food, had a cancerous tumor removed from his side, was de-wormed and was neutered and is up to date on his shots.  The vet says that he is cancer-free now, although his adoptive family will have to be vigilant to check for any lumps in the future.  Danny’s teeth show the years of neglect as they are a little on the yellow side from poor nutrition.

Danny is a gentle, sweet and loving dog, but we believe he was also abused during his life as he is very fearful around new folks and loud noises.  He doesn’t have any aggression but freezes when meeting new people.  After a few minutes, once he sees that you mean him no harm, he will come over to lick your hand and wag his little stub of a tail.  After a while, his stub doesn’t stop wagging!   Danny is still learning about treats and toys, and often buries bones just in case!!

Danny will do his “happy dance” for you every time he is fed.  He enjoys his food, he loves to run in a fenced backyard, he enjoys walks, and knows the sit command.  He is housetrained and does not like a crate – and one isn’t necessary because he does not chew and can be left on his own without incident.  Danny loves to sit on the couch next to you and give you sloppy kisses!  He loves having his own fluffy bed to lay on, and has taken very well to living indoors.  He love to go for rides in the car, and behaves very well.  Danny rarely barks – usually only when strangers are around his yard.

Danny is best introduced to new people and other dogs slowly.  Because of his fearfulness, we recommend a quiet home with a single adult or perhaps a retired couple without children.  He will need a calm environment, but when he bonds with his humans, he is playful, loyal and a “Velcro dog”!  We believe with the right home, patience and love, Danny will eventually get over his past and blossom!

Danny’s adoption fee is $75 – please click here to complete an application for him.
