Sometimes rescues are criticized for taking in only the "cream of the crop" dogs, meaning that only the perfect, easily adoptable dogs are allowed into their program. At Thunder's Angels, we pride ourselves on helping the underdogs. Many of Thunder's Angels' dogs are on their last chance when we save them - they are the leftovers that the other rescues leave behind because of illness, age, breed, or even coloring....or simply because there are too many dogs and not enough homes for them all.

Saving the dogs who are truly in need of rescue results in high boarding, transport, and veterinary costs. We don't leave them behind though.

Our mission is to help these poor victims move onto a better life into a permanent home that is 100% committed to caring for them for the rest of their lives; but we cannot do it without your help. As a small organization, we are completely reliant upon adoption fees and donations.

The adoption fees that we collect do not include the monies that we must spend on food, toys, cleaning/medical supplies, crates and fuel money needed for transport, licensing and kennel fees that we need to pay to maintain the organization, the cost of maintaining our website, the office supplies we use weekly, and the most costly, any additional medical costs the dog may have incurred beyond the vetting mentioned above (such as kennel cough treatment ($150), grooming ($50), teeth cleaning and extractions($100 - $500), heartworm treatment or parvo treatment (both of which can cost between $500-$2000 per incident), -- all of these expenses add up quickly.

We rely upon your donations to help subsidize these major expenses.

Please donate when you can so that we may continue our efforts.

Donation Programs:

One-Time Donation: We will allocate these funds toward our most urgent need at the time which could include transport fees, veterinary exams, microchips, vaccinations (distemper combination, rabies, bordatella), deworming medications, heartworm testing, heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, spay/neuter, post-op pain medication, antibiotics and other various medications.

Monthly Donation: By providing a monthly donation of $18 or $25, you will help to keep our day-to-day operations running so that we may continue to save more dogs. When signing up for this program, you will receive a free Thunder's Angels t-shirt! Please email us to participate.

Sponsor a Dog: With a $100 donation, you can sponsor a dog of your choice and your name will be listed on the website and in our newsletters as the dog's sponsor. You will also receive a photo and special periodic updates from the dog's foster family until the dog is adopted.

Lifesaver Fund: When a dog's medical care costs exceed the amount that we can collect for an adoption fee, we turn to this fund to cover the rest so that the dog can be provide with the necessary treatment. An estimated 1 of every 3 dogs that we rescue will require veterinary care above and beyond the routine care typically provided. Generally, this involves trauma care, orthopedic and other surgeries, treatment for heartworm disease, and dental care, including extractions. This is a fund that we rely heavily upon and always need donations for.

Urgent Dog Fund: Sometimes when dogs are on their 'last-chance' and we haven't had enough time to line up a foster home for them, we need to rely upon boarding facilities to save their lives. Boarding costs add up very quickly, especially when we are boarding several dogs at one time. By

donating to this fund, you will truly be saving a life.
